Frustration level
Have you ever put your heart and soul onto something, only to have it ripped to shreds by someone on a power trip? I’m so tired of the blatant disrespect for teachers; being talked to in a condescending tone, never given praise for a job well done or the extra effort used to ensure student learning. Since when does a fat, dumb, old, and authority driven slob (yes, I realize the irony, but this is a rant) get to talk to me like I don’t matter? Do my advanced education, teaching awards, refined and critical curriculum, rapport with students, or even student test scores mean nothing? Does it silence my voice? No wonder Az is lowest in education. The system is broken and anyone with a passion for teaching or the ability to do so, is treated like shit by those incompetant people that try and throw their authority around like they toss their nasty beer bellies over their belt buckles. I refuse to let them tell me I’m wrong. I refuse to be a pawn in the system. I refuse to stifle my ability to reach a student and help them learn a skill or find their voice. I refuse to see it their way. I refuse to stay here and watch this go on. The value of education in our country, our society, is brushed under the rug. We allow our children to become complacent and lazy and dishonest and remain in a state of idiocy and infancy. I refuse to promote this philosophy.
Someone tell me there’s some hope somewhere in this world? I need to find a place to be the teacher I was meant to be.

Literature in song. It takes a great mind to be aware of culture and its significance. To turn high brow into something higher? lower? genius? Music, and literature, can withstand the test of time because they resonate with truth. They have the ability to connect to the soul. To each individual.

One of my most anticipated of this year.
It’s already getting the Oscar buzz….and as someone who can relate to self-esteem battles because of weight, I’m very curious to see how they approach this. It’s about time we had some uplifting films to watch.
